As Atlanta burned, she was torn between her one true love and the man who loved her. Only one could save her family home. Wrapped in green curtains, she did what was necessary.
This week's challenge: retell your favorite book in 33 words. Enjoy!
An evocative retelling - actually I'm fibbing. Movie? Several times. Book? Not once :( But luckily there is infinite time in the world and I'll just add this to my bucket list :)
Thank you all for the nice and fun comments. I hate to break it to everyone, but I did, in fact read the book. I have also visited the Margret Mitchell House in Atlanta. I have also seen the movie a zillion times. I am a huge fan of the book, movie, and anything relating to it. Such a classic love triangle set in such an interesting period in our country's history. I think you can learn a lot about the Civil War by reading the book, you get a different type of perspective -- social rather than historical in many senses. Bring from New York state, it is also interesting looking at the Southern perspective. There is a lot more to GWTW than just the book! And thanks to Carol Burnett, the green curtain dress stands out in people's minds. Comically for her, but in the story it is an action wrought of sheer desperation.
You really nailed the heart of a very long story with your 33 words. Nicely done. Thanks for playing. Come on back Monday for the big 33rd challenge, it’s going to be fun.
And she refused to let talk of war spoil the fun at the spring barbecues! A great book, and you did a fine job with it.
